Minor Requirements
The doctoral minor requires a minimum of 15 graduate-level semester credits, including the seminar Introduction to Africa and the African Diaspora (Afro 5101). Student are expected to take one additional seminar that focuses on the study of Africa and/or peoples of African descent. Remaining courses will be select from one of the following two broad areas: 1) humanities and the arts, 2) behavioral and social sciences. All courses must be outside the student major fields of study.
The master's minor requires a minimum of 9 graduate-level semester credits, including the seminar Introduction to Africa and the African Diaspora. Remaining courses will be selected from one of the two broad areas listed above, and be outside the student's major field of study.
