Future Scholars Program
What is Future Scholars
A program offered by The University of Minnesota’s Department of African American & African Studies. The Future Scholars Program gives 9th-11th grade African American and African students from Arlington High School (AHS) the opportunity to partner with a University of Minnesota student to explore the steps needed to attend and graduate from college.
Program Goals
- Increase the number of AHS students who are ready for college.
- Address educational issues that affect the African American/African community.
- Help you gain awareness of career options.
- Develop meaningful relationships with University of Minnesota students

Who’s eligible to participate?
Future Scholars is open to African American & African students currently in grades 9th through 11th at Arlington High School. Students must be in good academic standing and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Meetings
Wednesdays, 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.
Arlington High School
Bus tokens provided for transportation.
